Our two Sectional qualifiers, Norah Rorem and Evan Knobloch, both earned State medals for finishing within the top 25 of their respective Class 2A Girls' and Boys' races. Norah, a seventh-grader, achieved a personal best time of 12:41 to secure her spot as the twenty-third place finisher on a course that had been rendered soft and slippery by recent rainfall. The Boys' race followed with Evan, an eighth-grader, crossing the finish line in fifth place after clocking in at an impressive time of 10:58. This marked the conclusion of a very successful season for our second-year program which has now produced one State Champion (Dusti Smith), one fifth-place finisher, and one twenty-third place finisher. A great number of personal best records were set this year by our sixteen athletes (seven girls and nine boys). We are eagerly looking forward to next year as we know that THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
